Halloween Party at Good Friend's House October 29, 2010
The girls were invited out to my sister, Jill's, best friend, Amy's, house for a Halloween party. Our friend, Amy, has two daughters my girls ages. Amy is one of those Moms I want to be more like. She throws the cutest parties for her daughters and goes all out. I always walk around her house in amazement looking at the decorations wondering where she came up with the ideas and thinking how creative she is. Anyhow she lives out in the country (at least to me) and my kids get to be kids by running around outside with no fear of getting hit by a car or someone taking them. We love going to Amy's house!! Very peaceful and fun.

The girls went on a hayride as part of the festivities. They loved it! I grew up riding on bales of hay in the back of the pick-up all the time. I remember my long hair whipping in the wind and the hay flying and getting in my hair. Do you know how hard it is to get hay out of hair?! It sticks in. Also now that I have kids of my own, I am amazed at how often we would go places with us kids riding in the back of the pick-up (having a blast of course) while driving down the road -- I don't think I would let my kids do the same thing today :) Then again I don't live in the country :) I am glad my girls got to briefly experience some of the fun I had when I was growing up.

I love this picture of Katelyn with these boys. This is so Katelyn. Again Amy's place is awesome in that they have so many fun outside activities for the kids to do. This zip line was a very popular event on this night. Typical Katelyn right up there in the thick of things. She loved this zip line and did it over and over and over.
Jordan loved it too! Isn't the countryside beautiful? So peaceful.

More fun outside activities to do.

Katelyn in the candy -- go figure. She has the biggest sweet tooth. Katelyn loves bones and skeletons as well so this candy dish was super awesome for her!
Jordan was so excited to bob for apples. Yes, we even did it the old fashion way (gasp). Our kids all stuck their faces in the same water other kids were doing so as well. It is funny how times have changed. Jordan loved it and was so cute trying to grab the apples with her mouth.

Got it!! She was thrilled when she accomplished this.
Katelyn giving it a go.
