Spot at Barnes and Noble

Jordan's artwork from the Barnes and Noble Pajamarama tonight. She finished coloring it when she got home. She loves to color.

Barnes and Noble has once a month a Pajamarama, where kids come listen to stories being read, do a craft, color, eat cookies and usually meet the character from the books that are being read. Tonight were the Spot books by Eric Hill.
Jordan, Katelyn and Ali at the book reading.

They also sang songs and danced.

Ali and Jordan were so cute hugging each other while listening to the stories.

Thursday Night Gymnastics

Most of the gang tonight at our weekly TGI Friday's dinner before the girls go to gymnastics. My girls love this and get so excited when we walk in and they see the other girls there.

After dinner, I walked all 5 girls over to their gymnastics place. Katelyn had a fit when I was leaving with all of her four year old friends. I took her with me and asked Christopher to come get her after he was done eating. It was so sad when we got to the gymnastics place because all the girls get so excited. They take off their shoes and sweats and run into the class. The sad part was Katelyn was copying. She had the biggest grin on her face and had her socks and shoes off before I knew it. I had to tell her "no" and put her shoes and socks back on while "her" four year old friends went in the gym. The picture above is Katelyn watching through a window the girls doing gymnastics inside the gym. I felt so bad for my baby. She wanted to be included!

Pachyderm

This was my Jordan after one of her first Disney On Ice shows. She was so little 2 1/2 years old. I remember she absolutely loved the Princesses and was so excited to get her "Beast" as a souvenir afterwards. I saw this old pic and wanted to post it.

Yesterday I picked the girls up from school. Every day when we are walking out, the teacher/receptionist at the front gives my girls a sticker. They each get to pick a sticker from the sticker book. This was the scenario last night:

Jordan to teacher: I would like the pink one with the pachyderm please.

Teacher: Sweetie, that is an elephant.

Jordan: A pachyderm is an elephant.

The look on the teacher's face was priceless. Yes, I had a big grin. I was so proud and so tickled. It was too funny. I guess it goes to show you never know who you are going to learn something new from even if it is a 4 year old!

Valentine Cookies and Cupcakes - Finally!

We made cookies and cupcakes finally! My friend, Christy, had sent us a goody box full of wonderful things to make cookies and cupcakes for Valentine's Day. Between going to Phoenix one weekend and Jordan getting sick last weekend, although past Valentine's Day, we finally got to make our Valentine Day cookies. The girls loved it and it didn't mattter to them one bit we were making them later.

Can I say I love ready-made cookie dough?!! What an invention. Here the girls are taking the heart shape cookies out and placing them on the cookie tray to make.

When we took the heart shapes out, there was cookie dough left over. They started eating it and at first I told them "no". Jordan's reply was "Aunt Kara lets us eat it"!

Katelyn placing the paper cupcake holders in the tray while Jordan checks out the cupcake mix.

Both of the girls had to stir the cupcake batter.

Jordan did a great job of putting the batter in the cupcake holders.

Katelyn was so cute standing on her chair looking at the cupcakes baking in the oven.

Frosting the cupcakes...

Decorating! The girls loved this! They had so much fun and throughly enjoyed themselves.

Jordan with some of their beautiful cupcakes!

The girls showing Mommy some of their cupcakes.

This cracks me up and I had to take a picture. Our living room downstairs is kind of a playroom right now with old couches and toys. Today I noticed hidden in the corner behind the couches, Jordan's horse she got for Valentine's Day laying down covered with her white blanket like he was taking a nap.

Today while Katelyn napped, Jordan watched her "Barbie Island Princess" movie and wore the matching Barbie dress. She kept telling her Daddy to call her Roe, not Jordan.

Back to decorating... The girls had a blast decorating their cookies.

What kind of surprised me was how well Katelyn did. She would look at Jordan and copy her. She insisted doing everything her sissy was doing.

Candy and Candyland

I was sitting at the computer working and, I heard Katelyn grab a chair. She walked behind me carrying her chair from the loft. I could see her out of the corner of my eye go into her bathroom. I heard loud noises and knew instantly what she was up to!

Katelyn is my chocolate girl. She loves it like her Mama. We have our chocolate bond. Unfortunately Katelyn likes to eat it all the time so I have to hide the candy. For Halloween and Christmas, I had given each of the girls boxes of M & Ms. I put Katelyn's in her bathroom in the back corner by her sink so she could not get to them. With Katelyn, where there is a will, there is a way!! The little stinker took that chair into the bathroom, stood up on it, and got her M & Ms. She has that mind that figures things out -- she is only two.

Of course I had to take a picture :)

Katelyn breaking into her M&Ms. I can tell the look -- she is wondering if I'm going to stop her.

Success!

Afterwards, Katelyn went downstairs and sat on our bed with her sister. I love when they sit together and are sweet to each other.

This is my Jordan lately in the bathtub. She takes swimming lessons on Saturday and loves to practice in the tub. She pretends she is a mermaid and will stick her face under the water for several seconds.

Friday night at home... CHH loves the 3 pizzas for $15 deal! We now order one cheese pizza with no red sauce. Jordan does not like the red sauce if her cheese comes off. Her cheese pizza is like cheese sticks and is actually pretty good. Nothing like a Friday night at home with loved ones, eating pizza and playing several rounds of Candyland! CHH played with her for the first time tonight and she loved it. Our Katelyn is in bed for the night.

Jordan's Doing Great!

Pictures of Katelyn on my camera phone lately are all blurry. She doesn't sit still for a second -- a ball of little energy.

Jordan is feeling much better! Thanks for asking Christy and others. We went to dinner tonight with Uncle Marty, Aunt Jill and Aunt Kara at Abuelos. CHH had a tax dinner (sounds fun, huh?! he he). Jordan will be taking her Amoxicillian for awhile (big bottles) but she was perfectly fine today. She described to Uncle Marty how her throat and tummy hurt and she stayed in bed all day (on Sunday). She was so cute using her hand gestures to tell him she had nothing to eat all day on Sunday!

Katelyn was so good at dinner. She sat at the table almost through the whole meal. At the end, she did sneak over to sit on Uncle Marty's lap a couple of times. At one point he had both girls sitting on his lap. They, of course, adore him.

Work has been so hard for me this week -- crazy busy and somewhat stressful. A welcome break today was going to lunch with my grade school (yes -- a long time!) friend, Brenda. We have to calendar a lunch a couple of months ahead of time to get it in. Today was the day and it was so great to see her and catch up. Brenda has four kids and I love to listen to her stories. She has great ones to share and I'm always picking her brain and taking notes mentally. Thanks Brenda!

Jordan at dinner rubbing Uncle Marty's bald head. She was so funny and was telling him it was scratchy.

Strep Throat for Jordan

This was my baby at 1:30 PM Sunday. She woke up once to go to the bathroom, stayed up for a little while and fell back to sleep. I have never seen Jordan stay in bed all day. She mentioned a couple of times her throat hurt. Jordan's school had sent out a notice a couple of weeks ago that Strep Throat was going around the school. Because of this, I began to wonder if she had Strep Throat.
I got Jordan up and took her to the First Choice Emergency place by our house. Out of the house at at this facility, she all of a sudden seemed fine and I wondered if I was imagining it. Well after checking her for a fever (which she did have 99.8) and swabbing her throat, they confirmed she has Strep Throat. I'm glad the school sent out that notice because I probably would have waited a couple of days thinking it may just be a cold or something.

While waiting for her throat culture results to come back, I took pictures of our hands together. She was sitting on my lap and I noticed how little her hands still seem to me. I love those little hands. We did other silly pictures with my camera phone to waste time while waiting.

After the visit, I took her home and put her back to bed where she has remained all afternoon. I left with Katelyn to go get the Amoxicillian at Walgreen's and CHH called and asked me to get carpet cleaner. He said Jordan had just thrown up all over him and the carpet. I guess it was good I was the one who went to get the medicine :) Poor sweetie and Jordie bear.

PS Aunt Kara is driving back from Austin tonight to stay home with Jordan the next couple of days. Aren't sisters great?!! Thank you Kara!!

Valentine's Day/Weekend 2009

Sisters on Valentine's Day!

My two cuties!

Daddy taking the girls to go get their Saturday doughnuts.

The girls receiving a Valentine's gift from Daddy and Mommy. Jordan had pointed out this white horse at Target at Christmas. CHH said he would get it for her for Valentine's Day. It has really cute pink heart barrettes for its mane and tail. Of course, Katelyn had to have one also for her babies.

The girls looking at their horses.

Mommy and her babies on Valentine's Day.

After swimming, Jordan had some friend's over to play. Katelyn joined the group as well. She thinks these girls are her friends also since she is always with the group.

The girls made bead necklaces.

First round of dress-up.

Next round of dress-up. They changed dresses at least four times throughout the play date. I was so tired of hanging dresses back up!
