More Birthday Pics

Jordan was very excited to receive the Barbie Diamond Castle Coach from her cousins, Aunt Shery, and Uncle Bob. They spoiled her because she also got two barbies from them as well.

A Cinderella doll -- perfect!! Does it look like a toy store behind her?! Her family and friends were so good to her and bought her the most wonderful gifts. She really did love everything. Jordan was so cute because she would open every card and look at it. She can't read them but she was so funny acting like she was reading each card.

The two hardest things on Jordan's actual birthday on Sunday was I was really sick and Katelyn not understanding about Jordan's presents. I could feel my throat getting sore and my nose started running late Saturday. Sunday when I woke up, I was miserable. I was sad because I was so excited for Jordan's birthday and wasn't feeling perky at all. I managed through the day and I don't think Jordan knew otherwise. I had wanted to do something special with her like take her to get her toes painted but was unable to do so; instead I slept in the afternoon after we took her to Purple Cow for lunch. As stated, she had a great day and that is what counts. I just wish I had more energy and wasn't sick to do the extra things I had planned. Oh well, we can get our toes painted on one of the upcoming weekends!

Side note: I will say I did have a litte pity party for myself on Jordan's birthday from being sick. I told CHH it was par for course since I spent the whole first day of Jordan's life on the day she was born throwing up. Why not celebrate the same way 4 years later?! At least this time I wasn't throwing up and just felt awful - ha! I also spent the whole first day of Katelyn's life the same way. I'm crossing my fingers and praying that on Katelyn's birthday everyone is healthy!

The other hard part was poor Katelyn not understanding about gifts. Jordan was opening all her gifts and Katelyn wanted to rip them open as well. Jordan was very good and let Katelyn help her -- Good Big Sister! However, we had to stop Katelyn several times from grabbing a gift before Jordan got to it and start opening it. We can tell that Katelyn is going to enjoy her birthday in December; at least she will love ripping the paper off the gifts.

Katelyn, also, was so funny because she can't say "Happy Birthday" yet. She would just say "Happy". It was too cute.

Happy 4th Birthday Jordie Bear!

Four years ago on this date, my whole world changed forever. I became the Mommy to the most wonderful baby girl. I loved her so much then and four years later I can't begin to describe the deep love I have for her. I cannot believe how fast the past four years have gone by and special and fun they have been. My beautiful baby, my girl, my daughter - I love you so much!!

Jordan had a wonderful birthday today. She got up and opened some presents from her party yesterday. We then went to Purple Cow with her Daddy, Katelyn and Aunt Jill for a celebration lunch. After lunch, she had her princess birthday cake. Jordan's favorite cookies are oreos cookies. She will tell you this! We got her a cake at Cold Stone Creamery with oreo cookie ice cream. She loved it!

After cake, she opened gifts from family. I think she is a little overwhelmed right now because she received so many wonderful things. She loves everything.

Tonight she received some birthday books at the end of her special day. Jordan loves books so this was a great way to end a wonderful birthday.

I cannot finish this without writing about Jordan personally and who she is today. Jordan is a kind, sweet, loving child. She loves her sister, her parents, and her family. She is highly intelligent, talks a mile a minute, and is inquisitive. Jordan is my cuddle bug. My heart melts when she will tell me unprompted that she loves me and when she wants to sit on my lap or lay beside me on the couch. I love hugging her and holding her. Jordan is beautiful on the inside and out. She has the most gorgeous chocolate brown eyes that are so expressive more often than not. She also has the cutest blond curls. She's my girl!

Happy 4th Birthday Jordie Bear!! I love you to infinity and beyond.

Cinderella Birthday Party

Jordan had a Cinderella Birthday Party at Young Chef's Academy. Her friends and Jordan made individual pizzas and decorated cupcakes. Jordan loves to pretend cook in her play kitchen all the time so this was a perfect party for her. Jordan's grandma flew in from El Paso for her party plus her cousins drove up from Lubbock. Aunt Jill, of course, was there as well as Aunt Julie.

Jordan had a wonderful time and it was a perfect party for her with all her friends. She loves her friends and they made it extra special for her by being there. She also loved all the gifts she received! Jordan hadn't realized yet that she would get gifts on her birthday and was pleasantly surprised when we took them all home to open them. The picture above is her in a Fancy Nancy dress she received; she is holding her Samantha doll in a new outfit she received for her doll as well. There is also a picture of Jordan helping put together the party bags to give to her friends at her party. It is funny but she absolutely loved putting those bags together.

Jordan is wearing her birthday dress that she specifically asked for. She loves dresses and wanted a birthday dress. She got chocolate on it at the party and I had to wash it Saturday night because she wanted to wear it again on her birthday! She loves this dress.

It was a wonderful Cinderella party!

Princess Alexa Foundation

Side note: To those friends who have said they would look through their children's things to donate, I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR EFFORTS. However, I have come to find out that the items must be new for these children because children are immunosuppressed and will get to keep what they pick out. So if you happen to be someplace like Target, the Disney store, Wal-mart, etc, and see a dress up item you can add to your cart to donate, I would so appreciate it.

To my sisters and my dear friend Julie -- thank you for each contributing a dress you purchased. This means a lot to me!! Thank you Kathy G. as well for your efforts!! Also to Julie and Carla for thinking about ways to work on this.

Kids should be happy and free from worries in life! Dressing up takes them out of reality and allows them to be just that - children!!

Classic Katelyn

Katelyn loves loves loves to wear hats and headbands. She dislikes barrettes and pony tail holders -- she is always removing them. Katelyn took this hat when I was going through Jordan's old Fall clothes looking for clothing for Katelyn. She loved wearing this hat all afternoon.
Katelyn is forever attempting to climb up on the table. She has actually made it a couple of times because she is so quick.
This is the classic Katelyn look. I think I have a picture of Jordan giving me a look like this that I need to find and compare them. Anyhow we get this look from Katelyn quite frequently. The good thing is she will smile and laugh now after doing this. We laugh at her and then she will laugh. Also please note, Katelyn is sitting in a chair. Last weekend, I broke down and removed her high chair and brought out the booster chair to sit at the table. What a difference at dinner! She loves it and you can tell she thinks she is such a big girl and she definitely loves sitting at the table like her sister.

I'm overwhelmed right now. I'm stressed at work because I have so much to do and so many projects to get done. I'm stressed at home because of trying to get things done for family coming in town this weekend and for Jordan's birthday party. Our little girl is going to be 4 and she is so excited about her Cinderella party on Saturday. I always worry though about the other kids and parents having a good time. I keep questioning myself on what I'm missing or what else I need to get. I have taken to making lists or writing things on my hand so as to not forget.


Also please remember my request for dresses or costumes for the Princess Alexa Foundation. I so appreciate the friends who have contacted me and said they were going to look for items. My plan is to send whatever I get to the foundation after Halloween.

Ft. Worth Friends!

Jordan, Katie, Katelyn and Libby - getting ready to go home. We were barely out of their drive way and Jordan said she missed them.
Katie and Libby gave the girls their old tents. We gladly took them. Jordan loved hers and started setting up "house" inside of it right away.
Katelyn also loved her tent. She had to be just like Jordan; she pulled a pillow in hers along with her princess blanket. She was so cute sitting in the tent drinking her milk. The tents fit perfectly in our living room with no furniture!

Upon arriving at Katie and Libby's house, one of the first things the girls did was play dress up. Yes, Jordan loves to dress up!! She was so funny walking around singing on this microphone. I need to get her one.

The girls are "scrapbooking". I was there to scrapbook with one of my best friends, Kathy, and the girls had their own set up as well. Jordan loves to color and she enjoyed being with the girls so much.

Jordan, Katelyn and I went to Ft. Worth after Saturday's swim lessons. We went to see one of my very best friends, Kathy, and her two daughters, Katie and Libby. Jordan loves older girls and just adores these two. We had so much fun. Katelyn was spoiled rotten by Katie and Libby. Libby was a little mommy and did everything to take care of Katelyn like helping change her diapers, checking in on her while she was sleeping, and helping out with her. Kathy and I relived our college days by taking the girls to eat at Mama's Pizza. It is my favorite and it was so good! We spent the night and left Sunday morning. As stated it was a great time and we can't wait to go visit again. Thanks Kathy, Katie, and Libby!!

School Bathroom

I went to pick the girls up at school yesterday after work. This is the best part of my day when I walk in the building and see them. As Jordan and I were walking down the hall to go get her sister, she told me she needed to go to the bathroom. I took her back to her class to go use the restroom. When she walked in the bathroom, the door was propped open so I unpropped it, let it close, and walked a little ways away to talk to a father of another child who we are friends with. While talking, I suddenly hear this noise and I look at the Dad and say "I think that is Jordan". I walked back to the bathroom and pushed open the door. There was my little girl with a bright red face and tears just streaming down her face. The door got stuck and she couldn't get out. As I was leaning down hugging her and telling her that Mommy would never leave her in the bathroom, the teacher came over. I looked at the teacher and said "I'm an awful Mommy; I let my daughter get stuck in the bathroom". As the teacher is explaining about the door, I hear Jordan say "you are not an awful Mommy". She is so sweet!! I still felt awful...

We then went to get Katelyn and Katelyn ran screaming and yelling "Mommy" towards us. It is so great to pick them up! The smile on Katelyn's face is so cute and I get a happy feeling all over when I'm hugging and kissing her hello.

Katelyn's First Doughnut Day!

Katelyn was such a big girl -- she went to go get our Saturday morning doughnuts with her Daddy and her sister. She was so happy to get to go with them and was so cute waving good-bye to Mommy. This is CHH's special thing to do with Jordan every Saturday and now Katelyn gets to go to!

Jordan started dancing around before swim lessons. She is so funny. She loves to dance.

Parish Panthers Football Game

We were invited by Jordan's friend, Ali, and her Mom to go to the Parish football game Friday night. Jordan and Katelyn had so much fun. There were so many fun events and it was great to meet so many nice families. Check out our "female spiderman" going up the climbing wall. I was amazed! I love the picture of Jordan feeding her sister popcorn. Of course, I think Katelyn's favorite moment was the blue cotton candy -- she ate 2!

Cinderella and the Sisters

This picture of Jordan with Cinderella is the one used for her 4th birthday party invitations. Jordan is so precious. Side note: Because of Katelyn being younger, I tend to think of Jordan as so big; however, when I look at this picture I see how little her hands are and am reminded again my oldest baby is still so little!

Day 7 - Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

When I mentioned on a previous post (see "Princess Dresses Please!" http://jordanandkatelyn.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html ), I talked about how much little girls love to dress up in Princess dresses and play princess. This was very evident on our 7th day at Disney when Jordan got to go to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to get her hair and nails done. She had a blast. They were so nice to her and she loved getting her princess hair done. Cyrs Aigner (Princess Alexa Foundation see http://meandmyzacks.blogspot.com/2008/08/princess-alexa-foundation-update.html ) just posted on her blog a picture of her with her daughter, Alexa, after getting made up at the Boutique in Disney. She spoke about how much Alexa enjoyed it and how it was one of their happiest times. I totally relate to this. Little girls do love it and that is why I like Crys' idea so much with regard to donating princess dresses (or other items for boys) to the Children's Hospital for kids to find a bit of happiness in a miserable not-fair situation.

While Jordan was getting pampered at the Boutique, CHH took Katelyn on rides. He started at It's a Small World and never got to leave. He said every time the ride ended, she would give the hand signal (knocking her fists together) for more and say "mo, mo". He apparently rode it several times but nevertheless enjoyed seeing Katelyn totally enthralled with the ride.

After we emerged from the Boutique, we were thrilled to see Cinderella's step-mom and step-sisters next to the castle. Jordan loves Cinderella so much so this was an unexpected surprise. I love the picture of all of us with them because of Katelyn's face -- she appears to almost be giving the same type of grimace/smile they are giving. It is too cute.

The girls really enjoyed seeing Mickey and Minnie's houses in Toon Town as well.
