Summer Camp Musical - Super Heros

Today was the last day for Jordan's first summer camp. The camp put on a show for the parents. The kids sang and danced to super hero songs like Batman, Spiderman, etc.

Do you know how hard it is to find a super hero costume in June with two days warning?!! I looked at Party City, Wal-Mart, etc. Nothing. My sister, Jill, finally found a boys t-shirt with the Superman emblem on it at her Wal-Mart. Jordan was excited. She wore a blue sparkly headband and had me spray her hair with glitter to may her more girly.

After the show, we went to the classroom to pick up her projects. She made CHH a picture for Father's Day. He loved it!

He was so excited when he saw her picture and I could tell how proud she was of her picture.

I took a late lunch from work to go to Jordan's show. I went back to work and Jordan came with me for a couple of hours. She was really good while I worked. At one point she saw me wearing my computer glasses so she came over and tried them on. Here she is in my office at work wearing my glasses.

Tonight we gave CHH his Father's Day gifts since we have our friend's wedding on Sunday. Jill, Marty, Jordan, Katelyn and I took my Dad and CHH to Abuelo's tonight for dinner to celebrate Father's Day.

Even the cat was in on the fun...

I spent all year sorting through the thousands (seriously!) of pictures I have and pulling ones of CHH and the girls. This is 4 1/2 years of pictures. It took me almost a year to sort all the pics in my minuscule spare time. I took about 150 pictures and made a fifteen minute DVD for Christopher with three songs and the pictures. The second song on the DVD was by Steven Curtis Chapman, "Cinderella". I cry ever time I hear that song. I also had the Phil Collins song in Tarzan, "You'll Be in My Heart" and of course, "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisle.

CHH said he absolutely loved it!! I want to make one for me now of my girls and me or at least a photo book.

One of my most favorite pictures of CHH with Jordan when she was a month or so old. He still does "nose to nose" with her today. This is the slide show on our TV playing while CHH and the girls are watching it.

It's All About The Girls

Katelyn had her first swimming lessons this weekend and she did so well. She is so darn cute in the pool and thought she was such a big girl getting to take her own lessons like her sister.

After morning swimming lessons for both girls (at different times), we went to the mall and had a play date in the play area. Jordan and Katelyn played for a couple of hours there with Alyssa and Tiffany. They love his play area.

After lunch with Alyssa and Tiffany, it was off to Sweet N Sassy for haircuts. The girls really needed it -- this is the third time ever both have gotten their hair cut.

Katelyn barely sat still for the hair cut but did seem to like getting her hair blowed dried afterwards.

Jordan really wanted these sunglasses from Sweet N Sassy. I bought them because I could tell how much she liked them. Jordan is my girly-girl and these glasses were perfect for her - pink and sparkly. She loves them.

I can't buy my Jordan something without being equal to my Katelyn so here is Katelyn with her new sunglasses. She loved hers as well. Anything with sparkles is a good thing.

After all day on Saturday doing things with and for my girls, we began Sunday the same way. We had a birthday party to attend at Pump It Up. I love this picture because I enjoy seeing Jordan happy and having fun with friends.

Sunday night dinner... Jordan is soaking her elbow in soy sauce...yes, soy sauce!

My poor girl burned her elbow when we were making pancakes Sunday morning. It was so sad. She wanted to flip the pancakes and I'm so fearful of her being next to the pan. I had her on a chair and I would support her arm in order to flip the pancakes.

I kept saying over and over to be careful and the pan was hot. Well, CHH was making bacon at the stove and said something to us. We both looked at him. When I looked back at Jordan and the griddle, I could see this look on her face. Tears filled her eyes and started rolling down her cheeks. She didn't say a word. I instantly asked if she burnt herself and she then started crying really hard. My poor sweet girl -- I knew it hurt. Apparently when we both looked at CHH, she turned and her elbow hit the frying pan.

Grandpa arrived soon thereafter for breakfast and told us how to care for her burn. She was very upset.

Later when we were at Pump It Up, I told Dr. Stephen (Alyssa and Tiffany's Dad) what had happened. He told me to soak the burn the next few days in soy sauce. He said the salt would dry up the blister and then after that to put neosporin on it every day. We started soaking her elbow Sunday afternoon!

My Friend the Bride

My good friend, Dale, is getting married next weekend! She is marrying another good friend of ours, Cym, who is a international tax law attorney and novelist of international thriller books.

CHH and I introduced Dale and Cym several years ago and they are getting married on the date they first met each other in person. My extremely intelligent hubby was the one who told Cym that he needed to meet Dale. I agreed because after getting to know both of them individually we realized how much these two people had in common with each other.

We were right! :) It is so nice to see people happy and especially my friend, Dale!! She deserves this happiness and I cannot wait to attend the wedding this weekend. They are getting married at The Four Seasons and it is going to be so nice and fun. It is going to be great to see their families as well and to catch up with everyone.

My friend, Jackie, and I threw Dale and impromptu mini-wedding shower at The Keg last Friday. It was fun and Dale was surprised.

Here we are after lunch and presents. I'm laughing that all three of us were in black and white. Happy Wedding Dale!! CHH and I are so happy for Cym and you!!

Dress Up Closets Opening at Children's Hospital

Go look at the Princess Alexa Foundation site and learn about the opening of the Dress Up Closets at the Children's Hospital on June 25th!! It will be an exciting day and what an honor to a precious little girl, Princess Alexa, who passed away one year ago on June 25th.



Also make sure to look at the awesome video, Crys, Alexa's Mom, put together on the Princess Alexa Foundation website. It is made up of all the little children the foundation has helped along with board members kids. You will see two pictures of Jordan and Katelyn in the video. Appropriately Jordan is wearing in her picture her Alexa dress from the new "Barbie and the Diamond Castle" movie.



I love seeing all the kids in their costumes and their happiness. Once again, thank you to all of you who helped donate costumes to the foundation!!

Back from Asia and First Day of Summer Camp!

Here is Jordan in her pretty new dress already for her first day of summer camp. She was so excited to be going. As usual, she insisted on matching jewelry for her dress. She also wanted to wear her hair down with a pretty bow -- that is what she told me.

Katelyn ready for water park at her school and Jordan ready for camp. Katelyn loves Ariel right now. I think it is because Princess Ariel is on the pull-ups she wears. Anyhow she wanted to wear her Ariel bracelet to school. I was surprised when she did come home with it tonight; it didn't get lost at school :)

I had to go to work and I took Katelyn to school. My Dad, AKA Jordan's Grandpa, took Jordan to her first day of summer camp. I thought that was pretty special. He did great. He walked her in, met her teacher, and put her stuff away for her. He then went to the airport to pick up CHH who was arriving from his trip to Asia. My Dad has been so great these past couple of weeks with helping out and all.

CHH is home! He picked Jordan up from camp at 3 PM and then immediately (after stopping for a chocolate shake for Jordan) went to get Katelyn. He said Katelyn would not let him put her down when she saw him and kept saying "Daddy" over and over. Too cute.

When I got home, he gave us all gifts. The girls were so excited. He got them the cutest wind breakers from Hong Kong Disney. They have the princesses on them and say Hong Kong Disney.

He also bought the girls colored pencil/marker cases. They love to color so this was perfect.

Presents for Mommy. I love them. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Disney. My Dad and Mom would take my sisters and I to California Disney every year when we were growing up. It was always a great time to visit with my Dad's brother, Dale, in San Diego plus great family fun. My three sisters and I have great memories of our trips to Disney and we all love Disney. Basically these were perfect gifts for me -- a sweatshirt plus a cute figurine. I love that Goofy is wearing a Chinese outfit and it says Hong Kong Disney on it.

CHH arrived home and I was so excited when I saw on Flight Tracker that his plane had arrived safely. He had been on a business trip the last two weeks with stops in Thailand, Brunei, Taiwan, and Japan. Needless to say he is exhausted tonight and slept through dinner and this evening.

Swimming with Clothes On

Grandpa took the girls for doughnuts Saturday morning. They love to go in and pick out their doughnuts.

At swimming lessons on Saturday, Jordan was told to wear her clothes. They practiced what would happen if she fell into a pool with her clothes on. Here she is getting ready to jump.

Afterwards she actually did have swimming lessons. Here she is swimming and I think she is getting really good at it. She loves to go swimming.

Sunday after breakfast with Grandpa and Aunt Jill, Jordan and I put the girls' new paint easels together. They were so excited to go outside and paint.

I love both girls' pictures. They are now hanging on my fridge. Jordan told me that her picture was a rainbow, grass, a tree with a nest, birds, a flower, and a girl eating a Cheeto! The stick person/girl has an orange Cheeto in her hand because Jordan was eating Cheeto. I love it.

Later they played inside their playhouse. Jordan cooked for me "surprise soup".

The girls made me come inside the playhouse to eat the "surprise soup". Katelyn is busy eating her own Cheetos.

Frozen ice pops (several for each) were a nice end to the day. The girls were a mess between painting, playing outside and eating these sticky ice pops. I told them to not touch anything when they came into the house and instantly gave them a bath! They had a great day and were outside for hours. It was fun.

Tomorrow CHH comes home - yeah!! The girls are so excited. I keep telling Katelyn that Daddy is on the airplane. I know she is thinking this the longest plane trip ever with him being gone to Asia for two weeks now!! We can't wait to see him. Grandpa has been great in his absence taking care of us though. Thanks Dad again and again!

Last Day at Creme

Today was Jordan's last official day at her school. She starts camps next week. We may put her back at Creme the last half of the summer but we haven't decided yet for sure. Since it was her last day at school, we went to the grocery store before going to school to buy cookies for her class. She picked several trays of blue cookies with sprinkles.

This is Jordan's pre-k teacher, Ms. Leela. Jordan loves her! She told me that Ms. Leela is very pretty and that she likes her because she wears fancy jewelry every day! Jordan loves jewelry.

I was already upset today when I took Jordan to school because I could not believe it was her last day here. I kept saying to my husband -- Where did the last three years go? I clearly remember us taking her to Creme on her first day and taking pictures. Now it is her last and the time seems to have just flown by.

When I walked Jordan in, Ms. Leela told me how much she was going to miss Jordan and how much she loved her. She was hugging Jordan and kissing her on top of her head. I cried. We have been so blessed by Jordan's teachers and how much they have cared for her.

At the end of the day, I picked Jordan up and was able to get a picture with her other teacher, Ms. Jessica. One of Jordan's good friends, Stephanie, wanted to be in the picture too -- cute!

Here is Katelyn with her teacher Ms. Allison. See the snack in Katelyn's hand -- Katelyn never leaves the school without her snack. Katelyn is so cute and it warms my heart as well to see her laughing with her teacher.

Ok, I cried again when I saw this card in Jordan's folder. It was from her class and I love it! I have it in her room now at home for her to see.

Isn't this the cutest? Her classmates all did hand prints for her along with her two teachers.

This was the neatest thing. I had no idea the kids journaled. Side note: I talked to Alyssa and Stephanie's Moms later and they did not know either. The was also placed in Jordan's folder. I later asked Jordan what it was and she said they wrote in it several times a week. She went on to say when it was your last day you got to keep the journal. I was thrilled when I went through it and saw what they have been doing. I love it and will save it for her forever. Below are a few of my favorite items in Jordan's book:
