Katelyn - My Little Toot

I was driving to work this morning thinking about Katelyn and how much more fun she continues to get. I thought I would be so sad to be at the end of the baby stage (I figure once she is out of diapers and really talking -- no more baby but little girl) but I'm really not. As she gets older, her little personality comes out and takes shape more and more every day.

This past weekend, I had her sitting on the bathroom counter to do her hair. I had barrettes and bows sitting on the counter. She was so cute as she picked out 3 different barrettes she wanted in her hair. I remember thinking that she is starting to have an opinion and to let us know it. Right after that, we went to put on her shoes to leave the house. I picked out her white tennis shoes and she said "No Mommy". She then said "pink" and pointed to her pink sparkle tennis shoes. She, of course, wore the pink ones.

As stated, I was driving to work this morning thinking about her and her opinions and how adorable she is. I then receive a phone call from CHH that she would not go to her favorite morning teacher and acted upset. I called my friend who was dropping another friend's child off at school (the Mom is out of town on a business trip) and asked her to check in on Katelyn. My friend attempted to do so but could not see Katelyn. I worried about her off and on all day.

Tonight when I went to pick her up, she screamed and ran across the room to me. It was cute and I was happy to see she was OK. Right after we hugged though she started acting up and proceeded to do so all the way out of the building.

How can she be so cute and so sweet one day and an absolute toot the next?! I love the little stinker so much and our lives are blessed even that much more by her being in them. I love her spunk, her zest and her newly formed opinions. I am very excited to continue to learn about Katelyn and her little personality in our future. She still can be a toot though on certain days!
