Jordan and Alyssa eating dinner at TGI Friday's on Thursday before gymnastics. The girls were so excited to see each other after we have been gone for a couple of weeks.
While Alyssa, Sarah and Jordan were in gymnastics, Katelyn sat on Sarah's Mom's lap playing a game on Chris' IPhone. Katelyn loves to do this with Chris.Speaking of my Katelyn -- the stinker keeps getting into the fridge and freezer. At first, I thought it was ok because I thought it was cute she was getting something to eat. Now it is becoming a problem. She is in the fridge all the time taking something out, opening it and then not eating it. I have also had to put all the chocolate in the fridge up high because she was eating chocolate all the time. She definitely has her Great-Grandpa and Grandpa blood running through her veins when it comes to chocolate! Anyhow I can't keep her out of the fridge and freezer now!
Saturday I was so proud of Katelyn at her swimming lessons. Even though she had been gone for a couple of weeks, she did fabulous. Ok, I'm about to be one of THOSE MOMS -- I actually thought she did way better than the other two little girls in her class. One parent in the middle of the lesson leaned over and asked me how old she was. When I replied 2 1/2 yrs old, they were surprised because she was doing so well. I was so proud of her.
Katelyn swimming underwater. I'm always amazed how they put the kids under water and have them swim.
After both girls had swimming lessons, Alyssa came over for a playdate. The girls love working on these bead things. You put the beads on a design and then when they are done, you iron it to melt the beads together. The girls love them. I think it is very good for their fingers to do this.
Yes of course dress up was involved in the playdate. Tinkerbell and Sleeping Beauty were so cute!
CHH and I took the girls to the Studio Movie Grill to go see the new movie, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. It was really cute and they loved it. We didn't see it in 3D however. I did not realized the Studio Movie Grill is not equipped for 3D. I learned something new :)
Sunday is "breakfast with Aunt Julie" day. It was great to see Jules after being gone so long. Dad joined us after church and we met Jules at Denny's. I see in this picture that Jordan was eating the butter! Jordan!
Sunday (while Katelyn napped), Jordan and I made Grandpa a homemade chocolate cake. Yes Christy, can you believe it?! I called Jill and got our Mom's Cajun Chocolate Cake recipe that we loved growing up. Jordan and I had fun baking the cake. Please note that Jordan is at the stove but it is not on. She is stirring the ingredients in the pan prior to me turning the stove on and boiling the items myself.
Jordan loved measuring and pouring the ingredients in the bowl. Baking a cake was actually really fun with Jordan because she loved doing it.
Grandpa and his granddaughters with his birthday cake. We put 7 candles on one side and 1 candle on the other for his 71st birthday. His birthday was last week on July 7th but we were just now able to bake him a cake since we had been gone. Happy Late Birthday Grandpa!
CHH and the girls watching the 3rd Harry Potter movie, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" . All day today they have been playing the Harry Potter movies on TV in anticipation of the new Harry Potter movie, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", that starts July 15th in theaters. This movie will be the 6th book in the 7 book series. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
