The Flower Princess

Jordan is attending summer camp right now at her new school. Every day her Daddy picks her up at 3 PM from camp. They immediately call me at work so she can tell me what she did at camp that day. This is the best because she is so excited and full of stories. If I miss this daily call, I do not get the same stories a couple hours later when I get home. I love these calls to hear about her day and they are very important to me.

Also as part of the routine, while Jordan is talking to me her Daddy goes through the drive-thru at McDonalds. She always tells him she needs a chocolate milk shake to cool down. He takes her for one everyday (and ends up drinking most of it himself!).

Well yesterday while we were talking after her camp day, she told me that the dress I had layed out for her to wear that day she had worn to the previous camp week. Last night when I got home, I looked through her closet to find something she had not worn to camp before.

My friend, Carla, has three girls. She had passed along to me many beautiful dresses from her girls. I pulled one of Carla's girls' dresses out for Jordan to wear to camp today and showed it to Jordan last night. Her final words to me before going to sleep were to please wake her up in the morning to do her hair before going to work! Where does she get this from?!! She is such a girly girl.

Anyhow this morning, I had an early morning conference call so I was leaving the house at 6:30 AM. I walked upstairs to kiss Jordan good-bye so I could at least say I did try to wake her. I started to walk up the stairs and here she came. She was wide awake.

Jordan insisted I get her ready before leaving. I moved quickly! I got her in this beautiful flowered Biscotti dress from Carla. I put on a matching bottle cap necklace that was pink and green with a jewel. I put a sparkly green headband in her hair and put a white gauzy bow on top of Jordan's pony tail. The picture above does not capture how truly adorable she looked. Jordan even had me spray a little gold glitter in her hair. She was too cute.

CHH came downstairs to be with Jordan and I flew off to work (made it in the nick of time for my call I might add but it was worth it!)

After dropping the girls off at school every morning, CHH always calls me to let me know he dropped them off and to let me know how they were that morning. Well this morning, he had me laughing. He said Jordan refused to lay on the bed to watch cartoons. She sat up straight as to not mess up her dress. He said he would check on her and he would see her straightening out her dress every couple of minutes to not wrinkle it. He then told me that when they walked into the school, a classmate of Jordan's came up to her and immediately told her how beautiful she looked today. CHH said Jordan was thrilled to hear this.

As stated, she just cracks me up. Jordan takes such care in her appearance and she is only 4 years old. I love it.

PS We got a catalog in the mail the other day (SB Sensational Beginnings) that contained Halloween costumes ALREADY. I gave it to Jordan and she has looked through that magazine the last couple of nights trying to decide on a Halloween costume. She just loves it. From that magazine, she said she wanted to be the CanCan girl. Well tonight we got the Chasing Fireflies catalog and it too has Halloween costumes in it. She is going nuts over having two magazines full of costumes now. In this magazine, she has picked the Dreamy Dragonfly costume (this one I could live with and it half the price of the other one!). Both costumes she has pointed out the fingerless gloves -- it is interesting that she loves these gloves and is one of the reasons for picking either costume. It will be sweet to see what she actually ends up being for Halloween this year. It is so cute that she is so excited over looking at the various costumes in these magazines.

Of course, my mind always goes to the Princess Alexa Foundation. They will have a costume drive again this year after Halloween so keep your eyes out for great deals!!
