Meet our new dog, Panda!

Our dog, Ms. Oscar, passed away last November and we took a break from owning a dog. Frankly, I was tired. I cleaned up pee and poop constantly towards the end when Oscar was really frail. My heart hurt too at Oscar's passing and I wasn't ready.
In the Spring, I realized we needed to start thinking about a new dog for our girls. We were ready after our break and we really missed having a dog in the house. I decided on a Boston Terrier and convinced CHH this is what we needed. He wanted a small furry dog but come on -- I knew who would be taking care of it and I wasn't up for the extra job of grooming. A Boston Terrier had short hair (easy to bath) and supposedly was a great dog for kids. After contacting several breeders, I found a Boston Terrier but she only had a male for sale plus his markings weren't great.
I didn't care. I just wanted a dog for my kids that would love them -- not a show dog :) Anyhow because our dog had a black ring around his eye instead of the whole side of his head being black, we got him for $200 cheaper. He was our discount dog and CHH wanted to call him "Outlet".
The breeder contacted me and sent me a picture of our one day old dog born April 21, 2011.

Here is Panda at one week old -- eyes still not opened.

Two weeks old - now can you see why we named him Panda?!

Three weeks old - Panda and his sister. She wasn't for sale.

4 Weeks

6 weeks

Almost 8 weeks old and his ears are starting to stand up.

At 11 1/2 weeks old, we finally were able to get our dog. On July 10
th, we met the breeder in Dallas at a dog show to get Panda. She is holding both dogs and we asked Jordan if she knew which one was hers and she immediately picked Panda out. He was so cute!! You can see our outlet dog next to his sister and her pretty markings. We didn't care. He is handsome to us.

The girls holding Panda and his sister. When it was time to say good-bye, Jordan got really upset. She cried because Panda was never going to see his sister again. Poor
Jordie she cried about half way home because she was so sad about this. At one point,
CHH said perhaps we should contact the breeder and if she does decide to sell the sister maybe we should get her :)

The girls at home with their new dog, Panda.

The little thing was so worn out after playing with the girls he laid in his bed and fell asleep. Katelyn crawled into and laid down with him. She loves him. Getting a dog was the right thing to do.

Katelyn's hand is so little on Panda's head.

Sweet boy.

Katelyn was constantly laying in his bed with him. She loves animals.

Jordan loves holding Panda as well. He is the sweetest dog. I didn't think I would fall in love with him so quickly but I have. He is just so darn sweet and gets so excited to be with all of us. I think he is going to be a great dog! Now if I can just get potty training done I will be happy. This Mommy is really tired of potty training the last few years - ha :)
