Disneyland! June 15, 2011
While in Newport visiting my Aunt and Uncle, CHH, Grandpa and I took the girls to Disneyland and California Adventure for the day. We love Disney so much. We have so many great memories of our wonderful times at Disney.
Entering the gates of Disneyland, Jordan immediately saw the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.
Jordan and Katelyn with the White Rabbit on Main Street.
Mommy and her girls ready for a day of fun! We rented strollers because we knew we would be there all day and the girls would get tired. I didn't want to carry them! It helped to have strollers as well because my Dad's hip is bone on bone and he can barely walk; he was able to lean on one of the strollers while getting around.
Katelyn still manages to have her Daddy carry her at times.
At Disneyland, I wanted to hit rides we do not have at Disney World. The first one we went to was Nemo's Submarine ride. The girls loved it. Katelyn is above looking out the submarine window.
Grandpa and Jordan going on the Alice in Wonderland ride -- another ride exclusive to Disneyland.
Daddy and his girls on the Alice in Wonderland ride.
Pinocchio's ride was fun as well.
Jordan on Casey Jr. Circus Train ride.
Katelyn and Jordan with Peter Pan.
Grandpa and Katelyn at Disney's California Adventure Park. This park opened later than Disneyland. We did a few rides over at Disneyland and then headed to this park when it opened. Jordan's favorite ride is the Tower of Terror and the lines get long. We headed to California Adventure to ride the Tower of Terror right when this park opened.
Riding on King Triton's Carousal.
We go to go on the new ride - The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Under the Sea Adventure. It was great. It reminded us of the Nemo ride at Epcot at Disney World but this was Ariel. It was really well done. We also lucked out on this ride. It was broken down. The lines get really long for this as well and we happened to be walking by when it reopened. We got on it quickly.
The girls with CHH on the Little Mermaid ride.
Grandpa, Mommy, Jordan and Katelyn in front of the Little Mermaid ride.
Great thing we had the stroller. Katelyn passed out.
Katelyn hitching a ride from Grandpa at Disney.
Jordan taking care of Katelyn on the Monster's Inc. ride.
Jordan loved this -- anything to do with Asia, particularly Japan, she is enthralled with. She wants me to change her bedroom from Disney Princess theme to a Japanese theme. I'm thinking about how I can do it.
Monster's Inc. Mike and Sully to the Rescue!
Goofy with the girls.
We walked back to Disneyland to continue the rides in this park. Jordan is in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle.
The girls love the Fairy Godmother :)
The girls went to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Sleeping Beauty's Castle to get their hair and nails done along with make-up. Jordan and Katelyn specifically asked to go here. They love to do this. Katelyn is picking out which crown she wants for her hair do.
Working on Jordan...
Katelyn getting her nails done.
Katelyn seeing herself in the mirror. I got CHH's reflection in the mirror looking at Katelyn.
The pretty princesses after their beauty appointment. The girls absolutely love doing this. It is really cute to see how excited they get.
Grandpa with his granddaughters outside of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Fantasyland.
In front of the statue of Mr. Toad while waiting to get on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride -- another ride exclusive to Disneyland.
Picture instead Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.
My girls love, love, love It's a Small World. The girls on the boat for the ride.
I love California's It's a Small World so much better than Florida's. California has incorporated various Disney characters into the theme of the ride so it is fun for the girls to try and spot the different dolls. I believe we saw Alice and Wonderland along with the White Rabbit in the England portion of the ride.
Cinderella was a favorite the girls spotted.
Ariel has been spotted as well.
Rapunzel from the latest Disney movie, Tangled.
Katelyn loved watching the parade as well.
Katelyn just had to have this. She licked it for quite a long time and then handed the whole sticky thing to Mommy to hold. She never did finish it -- who can?! Side note: She got this after we went to see the Captain EO show starring Michael Jackson. My girls absolutely love Michael Jackson. CHH plays his songs for them and they love how Michael Jackson dances. Both girls went nuts over the show and had to get Captain EO shirts to wear afterwards. Michael Jackson was so talented.
Katelyn got a lollipop and Jordan got a frozen Mickey Mouse ears chocolate ice cream bar. It is our tradition to get one of these while at Disney. CHH loves biting the ear off of his!
Grandpa, Mommy and the girls in front of one of Mommy's favorite rides - The Haunted Mansion. My girls love this ride too. They love to see the ghosts dancing.
Jordan had to climb it too.
Daddy and his girls on the Jungle Cruise.
Katelyn and her Daddy on the Jungle Cruise. It was a fabulous day and we left exhausted at the end of the day. Of course, we stopped by the big Disney Shop on Main Street and the girls each got to pick something to buy -- this is a tradition as well. Jordan got a stuffed panda wrapped in a blanket and Katelyn chose a photo book and Disney pen (she loves to write in notebooks right now).
