After most of the day at the zoo, we met up with CHH, Aunt Kara, Aunt Jill, and Uncle Marty at Medieval Times. We had never been there before. We wanted to do something fun to celebrate my nephew's 10th birthday! Both my nephews loved it. The girls enjoyed it as well. I will say the torture chamber they have at Medieval Times did leave me disturbed the rest of the weekend. I cannot believe humans treated humans this way!!
On Sunday, we all went to breakfast at Le Madeline's. My best buddy, Julie, along with Grandpa, Sue and Sue's daughter, Kelly, joined us for breakfast. It was one big happy family. It was nice to talk a little bit and catchup.
After breakfast, the cousins, Jordan, Aunt Shery and me headed to the mall to go to Build-A-Bear. They do not have this store in Lubbock and my nephew, Jacob, was really excited to go. My nephew, Zack, was excited to see the new Lego store that just opened at the mall. No one walked away empty handed!
After the mall, it was swimming for Jordan and the cousins along with Uncle Bob and CHH. Katelyn and Mommy went to one of Katelyn's classmate's birthday parties at Little Gym. She loved it. I'm constantly amazed at how much Katelyn is changing and seeming more and more grown up. Katelyn ran all over the gym playing and enjoying the various party activities. My poor baby did have an accident though. She was twirling around upside down on the bars and fell off flat on her face. I thought she was OK at first and then I saw her nose start to get beet red and her bottom lip had a little cut on it. After ice on the nose, Katelyn was back on the bars fifteen minutes later doing the exact same trick. She is fearless. Scares Mommy though!
The cousins, Uncle Bob and Aunt Shery went back to Lubbock on Sunday and Aunt Kara returned to Austin. We were really sad to see them all go. The girls kept saying this over and over.
Monday, we went to breakfast over at one of Jordan's new classmate's homes. It was so nice. Jordan has only been at her new school for two weeks and this family invited a few families over for breakfast and swimming. They were so nice! We had a great time. Jordan got to play with a few of her new classmates and Katelyn joined right along.
After swimming, the girls, Grandpa, Sue and I headed to Little Elm to visit Aunt Jill and Uncle Marty. We wanted to visit the "beast" or "little horse" or "???" -- their Mastiff, Gus (should have been named Bus :)). He is huge!! The girls loved seeing Jill and Marty's dogs and cat. Grandpa and Sue were very surprised at the size of Gus. I was too! He is a gentle giant though.
We left their house and went to Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream. Dad treated everyone. Yummy.
After ice cream, we headed home, met up with CHH, and all went to dinner. Yes, ice cream before dinner. That's my idea of a good meal :) While at dinner, CHH reminded me that the girls had swimming lessons that night. I had totally forgotten plus I was wiped out from being gone all weekend. Both girls said they wanted to go though. We went and poor Katelyn laid on the floor during her sister's swimming lesson and kept saying she was tired. Katelyn is never tired so I realized we really did wear the poor thing out this weekend. She managed to do very well for swimming lessons. Needless to say when CHH was reading her some stories before putting her to bed, her little eyelids kept closing. We did not hear one peep out of Katelyn when we laid her down for the night. Jordan was the same way.
As stated it was a great wonderful weekend with family! We are very blessed to have everyone in our lives.
Jordan picked out a pink unicorn at Build-A-Bear. She was so cute getting her made and walking around the mall with her Build-A-Bear box.
Jordan waiting on her cousin, Zack, at the Lego store. She enjoyed playing with Legos while waiting.
