What a Fun, Busy Weekend

We had a nice weekend. Friday night we went to a friend's house for dinner. There were about 10 classmates of Jordan's there with their families and it was fun to chat with the various parents.

Saturday, Jordan had her first soccer game of the season and did great. It was unbelievably cold outside and Katelyn had to sit in the car she was shivering so hard.

After the game, we went to go see the new Johny Depp movie, Rango, at the Studio Movie Grill. We went with 6 other little girls from Jordan's class. The movie was cute. There were lines in it that were not appropriate, I felt, for my girls but I think they are little enough it seemed to go over their heads.

Saturday night, we attended Jordan's school benefit while the girls were at a "pajama party" in the lower school. Jordan and Katelyn had a blast going in their pajamas, playing games, watching movies, doing crafts, and eating pizza.

Sunday, Jordan, Katelyn and I went to the Aquarium with friends. We spent most of the day there and then went to "The Cupcakery" with them afterwards. It was a fun time.

Katelyn got super close to this bird flying around inside and I kept telling her to not touch it. I could just imagine her reaching out and squeezing it like she does to her cat.

The girls loved the otters and spent a considerable amount of time at this exhibit watching the two otters swim and eat their lunch.

Friends!

Katelyn loved standing next to this tank looking in.

The girls also really enjoyed viewing the penguins as well.

Jordan and Katelyn love this movie "SharkBoy and LavaGirl" so both girls are into sharks right now. They really enjoyed viewing the various sharks in the shark tank at the Aquarium.

Katelyn viewing the sharks too.

Both girls loved being able to hold the starfish in this tank.

These dancers put on a show while we were at the Aquarium. One note - Jordan and I purchased in the gift shop a stuffed animal little Hedgehog in the Aquarium's gift shop. She got it for the head of her lower school (pk to 4th grade). The head has a collection in her office of Hedgehogs. Jordan was so excited about buying it to give to her.

While watching this show, Jordan sat it down and when the show was over it was gone. I'm sure some little kid picked it up.

Anyhow Jordan realized immediately and got so upset. She told me through tears that she got distracted watching the show and didn't realize she set it down.

I almost did not take her to the gift shop to get another one because I felt it would be a good lesson to make sure you take care of something someone buys you. With that said though, I couldn't do it. She truly was upset and was crushed her gift for the teacher was gone.

You should have seen the look on her face when I purchased another one -- thinking this is one expensive Hedgehog -- her look at me made me feel like her hero. I knew I did the right thing because she was so appreciative. I really knew I did the right thing when she left for school today with the Hedgehog in her book bag and couldn't wait to get to school to give her gift.

Katelyn and Jordan loved watching this cat in the background.

I love this picture of Jordan! Her eyes are sparkling and I can see her toothless gap!
