Chinese Teachers

Jordan's school has an education program with a Chinese school. Teachers from Jordan's school went to China last year and this year Chinese teachers visited Jordan's school. While visiting this year, the group of Chinese teachers was walking by outside while Jordan and the other kindergartners were playing on the playground.

As several of the teachers emailed and later told me, apparently when the Chinese teachers were walking by Jordan ran up to them and said "Ni hao". This is Chinese for hello.

The teachers then answered her back in English and went on to have a conversation with Jordan. As Jordan's teachers stated to me later, they loved her! Each of the Chinese teachers had their picture taken with Jordan and then went on to have a group picture with her. As they were leaving, they gave her a Chinese pin for her shirt.

Jordan's teacher, Ms. Dees, sent home the cutest note with the pin safely attached to it. Jordan was so proud. When I came home from work that night and asked Jordan how her day was (I already knew from her teacher emailing me at work), her first response was "GREAT"! She then went on to tell me she loved the Chinese and all about meeting them :)
