Colorado Rocky Moutain High

We went to Colorado last weekend and stayed with some friends at their house. It was wonderful. Here the girls are at the airport waiting to board the flight.

The view from our friend's house.

Jordan and two of her school friends in Colorado!

All the girls ready for bed the first night there.

This is what we witnessed every day - deer right outside our windows. The whole house was windows with the most spectacular view everywhere one looked. Katelyn is looking out the window at a deer in front of the house.

Katelyn and friends watching TV.

Our first full day in Colorado, we drove into Colorado Springs and went river rafting all day. It was so much fun.

Saturday night enjoying dinner outside on the deck.

Sunday morning (4th of July!), I helped the girls make a tent. They loved it and were so cute hiding in it. Kids just love tents...

A baby deer laying down right outside my bedroom window.

Look how close the deer were!

Katelyn and her buddy playing outside on the deck. It was so awesome for my kids to get to enjoy the outside. We didn't have to worry about anyone taking them (except perhaps a mountain lion or bear!) and were able to see outside through all the windows at all times to check on them. Katelyn had a blast jumping off of rocks, playing in the dirt, picking up sticks, watching animals, etc.

Katelyn is too darn cute I think!!

Sunday, the whole gang went horseback riding. Yes, my Katelyn and Jordan rode horses by themselves and did so well. Katelyn is getting her stirrups adjusted.

Katelyn is ready to go ride.

Jordan is getting situated on her horse, "Cowboy".

Jordan is ready to go.

Everyone waiting to go on the ride. This was CHH's first time to ride a horse as well. He was such a great sport about river rafting (his first time), horsebackriding, and spending time outside. I kept joking he was my city sleeker. He did really well and had a great time the whole weekend.

All of us on the two hour trail ride.

Jordan and her Daddy riding their horses.

Katelyn is in the turquoise hat riding her own horse at 3 1/2 years old. Yes, I was concerned at first but I was assured these were trail horses and would follow each other. She hung on really well and even had to kick her horse to go at times when it stopped to eat. She was amazing as was Jordan!

Getting a snack after the ride. The girls had the best time.

After riding, we went into Pagosa Springs to go to a carnival. This is the wooden bridge in Pagosa.

The view from the bridge of Pagosa Springs - it was so beautiful, peaceful and relaxing.

Jordan and her buddy at the carnival.

Jordan and her classmates on the Ferris Wheel.

Our headquarters - the Malt Shoppe!! Every time we stopped here it was packed. It was yummy!

I love this picture of my family!

Sunday night, the 4th of July! The kids all ate outside.

Monday morning - time to go home - Katelyn and her buddy after just waking up.

All the kids Monday morning!

Katelyn outside once again right before we were getting ready to head back home. It was a wonderful vacation in Colorado although too quick. Colorado is truly gorgeous. I loved telling the girls I was born there! Side note: I had John Denver songs running through my head the whole weekend and continuing since we returned home!
