"Mommies love their little children..."

"and that is why they say yes," quote from Jordan as she stood looking at me with her long blond curly hair framing those big brown eyes filled with tears.

Last night after our return from Phoenix, Jordan did something I had asked her not to do several times previously. When she did it again last night, I looked at her and told her that Mommy was not happy with her right now and I needed to be alone. I told her to go upstairs since I was downstairs.

Jordan is with me probably 90% of the time when I'm at home. She is my little buddy, my friend -- always with me. She is a great child and so good most of the time. Last night when I told her I needed to be alone, it really got her attention and she was upset. I felt bad but she needed to know that I wasn't happy with her actions.

Anyhow she teared up and told me she loved me. I, of course, told her I loved her too but I needed to be alone. She then hugged my leg and said it again. She then looked at me and started asking if I wanted her to care about her. I said, of course, and that I always want her to care about herself and that is very important to Mommy. She then said "well, do you want me to care about you?" and my reply was "yes, I want you to care about everyone. I want you to care about you, Mommy, and everyone." She then said well if you want me to care about you too then you need to let me stay downstairs with you.

I told her that I loved her and to go upstairs. I walked into our bathroom and she followed me. With those big brown eyes full of tears, she said "Mommies love their little children and that is why they say 'yes', not 'no'."

I acquiesced after that statement. She got the message and enough was enough.

She kills me though when she comes up with some arguments. I always wonder what she thinks about. She comes up with the cutest darn things to say at times that make a huge tug on my heart (the heart that is so in love already with her sister and her!).

I do think it is cute and makes me feel good that she knows "Mommies love their little children"! She knows her Mommy loves her and that is one of the most important things to me.
