Dad's Doing Great!!

My family all on their computers and IPhone while waiting on news about Dad in the waiting room. I laughed at all the technology we brought along to keep us occupied while waiting. I kept checking work emails and worked some while waiting! Dad had a cardiac cat done and then a stent for 90 to 95% blockage in the main artery. Jordan and Katelyn - this is your medical history! My Dad is 72 years old and this is his first health issue ever.

Dad in his hospital room after having the stent put in. We did not realize he was going to have to stay the night so Dad and I did not come prepared. Nevertheless we made the most of it.

My sisters, brother-in-law and I kept him entertained throughout the afternoon -- he was not allowed to move his leg from where they went in his artery to place the stent in his heart. It was actually nice to be able to talk to my sisters and Dad all afternoon without having to run off to do something - I can't remember the last time we were able to do that.

I then spent the night at the hospital with my Dad. I later told CHH it has been a long time since I have stayed out all night and come home in the same clothes the next day! As stated, we weren't prepared to stay so I slept in my jeans and shirt. CHH stopped by with the girls to check up on Grandpa as well.

What was also great were all the emails, texts, and phone calls we received from people that cared about my Dad. Everyone was checking in on him. My Dad has 3 brothers and 1 sister along with their spouses who were all checking in on him as well. It made my heart happy to see and hear once again how loved my Dad is by his siblings. It really is neat how close the five of them are which I think is pretty unusual at times.

I saw my girls briefly Wednesday night when they stopped by to check on Grandpa. As a result, I picked them up at camp the next day because I missed seeing them so much. It was great to hug my two beautiful, precious girls!! I'm also so thankful my Dad came through with flying colors and is going to be ok. I'm so blessed.
