December 4th - Happy 5th Birthday Katelyn!!

This is a picture of Katelyn going to bed on December 3rd - her last night of being 4 years old.

As she slept, I decorated the kitchen with items from Green Lantern.  She loves superheroes and especially loves Green Lantern.  She insisted on a Green Lantern birthday party.

 Katelyn is 5 years old!

Katelyn's birthday party with her friends was actually on her real birthday.  She wanted a superhero birthday party at Pump It Up.

Sisters at Pump It Up for Katelyn's birthday party.  Jordan is wearing her superhero shirt for the party.

Flying into the party.  Katelyn was so excited.  She had been talking about her birthday party for 6 months and it was finally here!

This was cute -- Katelyn's classmate wore her batman shirt.

Katelyn's superhero birthday cake.  Since she attends at all girls school, I thought it would be nice to have girl superheros as the decorations and Katelyn liked it.

I loved her birthday cake.

For the kids, I had cupcakes with superhero toppers.

I always love the look on her face at her parties -- I can tell she is absolutely thrilled.

CHH, Jordan, Katelyn and me after her birthday party.  Katelyn said it was awesome!

Jordan wearing one of the party favors - a crown.  I had bows made with superheroes on them matching Katelyn's cake that I gave out as party favors along with crowns and wands and some candy of course.

Parade - December 3rd

We took the girls to the annual Holiday parade and met up with some of Jordan's classmates there. CHH brought a box of doughnuts which were a big hit amongst the girls. Katelyn and Jordan with Jordan's 1st grade classmate.

Katelyn's Class Birthday Celebration - December 2nd

Katelyn's 5th birthday is on December 4th. Two days before, her class celebrate her birthday. On this day, she was able to wear any outfit, not her school uniform. Here she is with a few classmates before school started on this day.

Upon entering the classroom, the kids always sit and read books initially to get their day started.

Time to celebrate in class. The birthday girls gets to wear this flower tiara.

Getting ready to celebrate in class.

The candle on the table represents the sun. Katelyn's teacher had Katelyn walked the Earth around the candle for each year of Katelyn's life. While Katelyn did so, I read about Katelyn for that particular year.

Everyone then sings "Happy Birthday" and she "blows" the candle out. It is actually an electric candle so she really just switches it off :)

I then read the class one of Katelyn's favorite books "The Sweet Touch."

Celebrating our baby's birthday with her in her classroom.

When CHH and I left, we saw art work on the wall and found Katelyn's. I love it.
